Exploiting Blacks in the Media

I'm SO tired of articles and news stories like this. Can we please keep this conversation on the blogosphere, barbershops, and nail salons please? And if you are so inclined to do an interview, please at least look semi-decent. I'm just sayin...

I'll take this moment to disagree with brightstar. The people in this article are average in appearance and style of dress. Except for skin color, they are no different than Joe the Plumber.

It is a form of racially narcissistic projection when every black person must be meticulous in speech or style of dress to be treated without condescension or paternalism while white folks from hill billy nation are considered authentic.

Voter confidence is a vital sign of democratic health and warrants serious inspection where it is most fragile: the poor and black working class. They may not look or sound like us but that is the point. They know that they have little social and political power and express the anxieties of their circumstances.

Voter intimidation is a national concern and should not be sequestered. The klieg lights of mainstream media need to be focused on this subject.

Good point submariner. But can we compromise on a bra?

my goodness...I understand what submariner is saying and brightstar...i definitely feel what you're saying. But we have been stereotyped for so long by so many...it's just a lil' bit different.
