Oh HELL No! - Sarah Palin's 17 Yr. Old Daughter Pregnant
In order to clear rumors that were referenced in our previous blog entry, CNN just released a statement from the Palin camp regarding her teenage daughter's pregnancy!
Full statement from Sarah and Todd Palin:
"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."
Okay - how about THIS. Since McCain had so much success with that Britney Spears/Paris Hilton commercial touting Obama as a just a "celebrity", I'd LOVE if one of these independent organizations created a Jamie Lynn Spears/Bristol Palin commercial and directly attack her inability to even handle her own household. Fair is fair (*wink*). Can't wait for the Conservative Christian fallout as they aren't necessarily open minded. Before today, Palin was their hero, pro-life and was for abstinence only sex education programs in schools (oh the irony). Well, now that I think about it, they did vote for Bush and his alcoholic daughters TWICE. But this definitely can't be "good" news for the McCain campaign.

I'm not sure, but my fingers are crossed - waiting on the news that the real father is Osama Bin Laden. This election is pretty EXCITING. I need popcorn.
Just read this comment on the CNN blogs from "PJ, New York Independent" and I thought it was interesting. Check it - "Oh well, it happens to even the best people/families. At least she's not going to kill it/get rid of it. If it were Obama's decision, he'd have the baby aborted late term, then let it die on the table, as he supported/fought for in Illinois but is now (with the help of the liberal news media) covering that up."

I would love that commercial! I'd tivo it and play it again and again.
Her daughter getting pregnant makes for bad politics, but it does reflect the world we live in. I don't think they should dog her out about it just so we can win, that wouldn't be right. I also hope that Mr and Mrs Palin aren't making their daughter marry this dude to somehow clean up the mess. That could prove even more disastrous.
