Dr. Phil: N-Word on Friday
Since we have the klansman on here, let's keep it ish rolling. Dr. Phil has a show airing on Friday that discuses the "N-word." Let's try and DVR this to see how it's going to be:

This two-syllable expression is arguably the most divisive word in society. Dr. Phil tackles this touchy topic with help from a panel of outspoken luminaries: civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton; legendary comedian and writer Paul Mooney; CSI actor and author Hill Harper; comedian Sheryl Underwood and conservative radio talk show host Michael Graham. First, is there a double standard that allows African-Americans to use this sensitive word, while non-blacks are forbidden? The debate heats up when Rachel, a white guest, says she calls her husband the N-word all the time. Then, should hip-hop artists be censored or fined for using the N-word in their songs? Becky says rappers promote negative stereotypes with their lyrics, but find out who Rev. Al Sharpton thinks should face the music. Plus, does tone or intent make a difference when using the N-word? They have the worst possible panel for real intellectual discussion. They chose the most controversial panel for pure entertainment purposes only. The impact of this show will be minimal. The show is strictly going to be on Jerry Springer status. I still might have to set my DVR to watch the insanity ensue. I just know I'm going to get mad. Btw, I agree with Paul Mooney, but you already knew that, lol.
Paul Mooney...he is going to give it to you straight...if he says it, he means it...right or wrong...
not the panel or platform I would have chose for this discussion to be aired nationally...oh well. I don't play with Dr. Phil...this show will be no different.
That nigga Dr.Phil needs to leave that topic alone. He needs to focus on more important black people problems like...

Ok, jokes aside. I really hate shows on this topic when it comes from white people. Its almost as thought they still want an excuse to be able to use the word.
I'm with Paul Mooney when he said white folks taught him how to be racist.
He was right a few years ago when he said, "everybody wanna be a nigger, but nobody wanna be a nigger."
The man is a comedic genius and is one of my heroes. As for the rest of the panel...blah blah blah...same old shit different day. Besides, niggas aint checkin for Dr. Phil anyway. Most of us can't even afford health insurance.
ROTFL @ Rippa. Why can't I stop laughing!!!! STOP! But for real, there is a shortage of Kool-Aid...particularly red. And I agree, I've never watched his show a day in my life. I guess this will be his way of appealing to a larger audience? I doubt it.
Dr. Phil can kick rocks. I do not see the purpose of talking about this. They are MAKING it a big deal. Other countries are loving this about right now. Look at the dumb Americans. Will the next show be on the use of the word Bitch and the way women and men use the word.
Good lordy, this show is gonna be a travesty. It's gonna be like back in the day when Phil Donohue would have have Farrakhan and David Duke on the same show. Pure train-wreckery. No one is gonna learn anything from this.

I honestly don't think is it OK for a black person to use this word in a slang because even if they do, it still has the same meaning no matter which way you want to put it...It is the history behind this word and the meaning to this word which doesn't make it right for a black person or a white person to say it...
OK do you think it is right for a black person to use vulgar or raciest slang toward a white person?
If yes, it has the same effect on a white person as using the n-word toward a black person...
if no, you are absolutely correct...
Anyways this explains my point the n-word shouldn't be used in a derogatory way or a or a slang either way its wrong...
Ok, watched this show tonight. I was right - it definitely got me a bit upset. We will definitely be posting on subsets of topics discussed in the upcoming week - unfortunately. *sigh*
This show didnt air here... Did you guys actually watch it? On friday it was the amazing race. I really wanted to see this episode.
